Intro to Handguns Course (Handgun Marksmanship 1)
This full-day (8 hours) introductory course offers new, prospective, and experienced handgun owners the opportunity to handle and fire a variety of handguns while learning and applying basic gun safety rules. We will cover firearm nomenclature, ammunition specifics, storage and transportation, and practice marksmanship fundamentals with several different handguns and calibers throughout the course. This course covers both semi-automatic pistols and revolvers in 22 LR, 9mm Luger, and 38 Special. You do not need your own firearm or ammunition to take this course, but you are welcome to bring any that you own. We also offer the CA Firearm Safety test in this course for an extra fee, if you are looking to purchase a firearm shortly after the course!
Precision Handgun Course (Handgun Marksmanship 2)
In this training course, we spend 3-4 hours building precision and defensive marksmanship skills using a variety of challenging targets. From tactical reloading to target transitions, these static drills will help develop the skills needed to hone range and defensive marksmanship. If you do not have your own firearm and ammunition, we can provide them. Each student will need:
- Handgun
- 2-3 Magazines
- 300 rounds of ammunition
- Eye and ear protection
- Close-toed shoes
- Any other range gear you usually prefer! (magazine loaders, kneepads, etc., not required)
Initial CCW Course (Defensive Marksmanship 1)
Our OCSD-approved CCW certification course is comprehensive and flexible in our approach to ensure we are developing the best training for those who want to exercise their Constitutional rights. In our two-day course, including 3-4 hours of dedicated live fire training, we will cover:
- Self Defense Legalities
- Use of Force Guidelines
- OCSD & CA CCW Policies
- Threat Identification, De-escalation and Avoidance Tactics
- Holster Selection & Training
- Dry Fire & Live Fire Training and Skills
- Weapon Modifications & CCW Firearms
- Legal Aftermath of a Self-Defense Incident
- Emotional, Psychological, and Physical Realities of an Incident
Students will need the following: - Firearm and Holster (OWB or IWB, non-collapsible)
- 150 rounds (50 for each additional firearm to qualify)
- Handheld flashlight
- Eye and ear protection
- Close-toed shoes
- Any other range gear you usually prefer! (magazine loaders, kneepads, etc., not required)

CCW Renewal Course
Our 8-hour (including 3-4 hours on the range) OCSD-approved CA CCW Renewal course covers many of the same core concepts of our regular full course. This course is for students who already have their California CCW permit through the counties we teach for. We will cover:
- Self Defense Legalities
- Use of Force Guidelines
- OCSD & CA CCW Policies
- Threat Identification, De-escalation and Avoidance Tactics
- Legal Aftermath of a Self-Defense Incident
- Emotional, Psychological, and Physical Realities of an Incident
You will need 150 rounds for the primary firearm you are qualifying on your permit (50 for each additional), and eye/ear protection, as well as closed-toed shoes.
Advanced CCW Course (Defensive Marksmanship 2)
Our Advanced CCW Courses vary in content and drills, covering a variety of real-world scenarios and CCW-applicable skillsets. From low retention shooting and complex movement drills, we have drawn from several agency drills, actual shooting incidents, IDPA stages, and more to bring you a realistic training experience. These courses are full range courses with no classroom time, running 3-5 hours depending on range availability. Some tactics that are covered frequently each month:

- Cover to Cover Drills
- Transition and Contact Drills
- Low Retention & Complex Target Drills
- Distance Transition Drills

Intro to Rifles Course (Carbine Marksmanship 1)
This one-day course primarily covers the AR-15 platform, as it is the most popular rifle in America and the rifle that many new owners purchase. Our goal is to grow proficiency with your new rifle, as well as help you zero and maintain your rifle. New and experienced shooters alike will find useful and applicable information throughout this course! We will spend about half the day in the classroom, followed by two hours on the range working on fundamental marksmanship in the various shooting positions; standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone. This course will cover concepts that apply to many other carbines, and our instructors can apply the concepts to whichever semi-automatic rifle you have (Ruger 10-22, AK, M1 Carbine, etc.).
Students will need the following:
- Rifle & at least 2 Magazines
- 100 rds (FMJ preferred)
- Eye and ear protection
- Close-toed shoes
- Any other range gear you usually prefer! (magazine loaders, kneepads, etc., not required)
Intermediate Rifle Course (Carbine Marksmanship 2)
This course varies between two locations; an indoor 25 yard range where we will work on low light and transition marksmanship, and an outdoor 100 yard benchrest range where we will work on a variety of timed and stress marksmanship on variously-sized targets at distance. The course will be held on weekday evenings at the indoor range, and weekday mornings at the outdoor range. This course is 4 hours in length at either location.
Students will need the following:
- Rifle & at least 2 Magazines
- 100 rds (FMJ preferred)
- Eye and ear protection
- Close-toed shoes
- Any other range gear you usually prefer! (magazine loaders, kneepads, etc., not required)
Tactical Rifle Course (Run & Gun)
This is one of our most fun and challenging courses, integrating rifle and handgun marksmanship in a variety of tactically challenging drills! From movement drills and weapon transitions, to low light and reactive targets, we will run exercises that build and challenge your fundamentals in each part of tactical rifle and handgun marksmanship. The goals of these drills are to build skills for 3-gun competitions, desert shoots, and other professional applications.
Students will need the following:
- Rifle
- 2 Rifle Magazines
- 100 rds (FMJ preferred)
- Handgun and Holster (OWB or IWB, non-collapsible)
- 3 Handgun Magazines
- 250 rds (FMJ preferred)
- Handheld flashlight
- Eye and ear protection
- Close-toed shoes
- Any other range gear you usually prefer! (magazine loaders, kneepads, etc., not required)
